This month we celebrated Dr. Seuss. We read his biography, and many of his books. One of the more famous books that most students had schema about was
Green Eggs and Ham. One of the lessons I have been teaching in Reading Workshop has been to discover and determine why the author wrote a book or what was the lesson of the story. So we did a little project after the story. I gave each child 2 cups, each had a drink in them one looked like blue kool-aid juice and the other like muddy water. Everone assumed that the blue drink would tast delicious while the muddy drink would be disgusting....look how it turned out..
lets try the blue first.... (salt water)
Now the brown (orange juice and food color)
The lesson is...you can't judge a book by its cover!
