Easy as PIE

Another busy day in second grade today! We learned about Author's Purpose and made a list according to the types of information that the author wanted us to know. persuade inform or entertain PIE! 

We worked with our reading buddies to sort different genres and reading material into the correct category. 

Finally we created our own PIE plate and used old book orders to cut out books and determine why the author wrote the text. It was easy as PIE!
