Computer Savy

Did you know that in our school all children learn how to use the computer safely? Each child is assigned a log in username and even a password. Sounds a bit overwhelming for kindergarten don't you think? The amazing thing is that they can all do it! In the start of the year I give them a library tag, it has all of their information on the back. They use this to check out books but also to access the computers.  The kids learn how to log on the computers and then how to access the Library webpage with help and practice from our Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Carraba. The children navigate through the district page to locate games and activities that are both educational and fun! The best part is that they can access these activities from home as well to practice their skills. Check out the District Page HERE and see what your child can show you!

A Pat On The Back

It is always fun to celebrate our success in the classroom and fun way to do this is to give the children a "pat on the back." that lasts all day long!  I think Dr. Jean was the one who I got this original idea from (Teachers: Isn't she amazing?)

Christmas List

We have been working on writing lists of things. Today we wrote lists of Christmas Words. Our "kid-writing" (sounding out words) has really begun to grow. The children wrote all of their words independently!

 I have uploaded the worksheet if anyone would like to use it at home for more practice(parents) or in your classroom (teachers.) It's not fancy but it saves time, which we all could use at this time of year!

The Magic of the Season

This week I began the elf on the shelf. the box is wrapped with fancy paper, a note from santa and a spray of holiday air freshener .
