It is always fun to celebrate our success in the classroom and fun way to do this is to give the children a "pat on the back." that lasts all day long! I think Dr. Jean was the one who I got this original idea from (Teachers: Isn't she amazing?)
Here is picture of a few kids that were super readers this past week and earned a pat on the back!

Christmas List
We have been working on writing lists of things. Today we wrote lists of Christmas Words. Our "kid-writing" (sounding out words) has really begun to grow. The children wrote all of their words independently!
Here are a few pictures of some of their work:
I have uploaded the worksheet if anyone would like to use it at home for more practice(parents) or in your classroom (teachers.) It's not fancy but it saves time, which we all could use at this time of year!

The Magic of the Season
This week I began the elf on the shelf. the box is wrapped with fancy paper, a note from santa and a spray of holiday air freshener . As the kids walk in there is nothing more than the pure joy and magic of the season. Here is the unedited version of them discovering the elf. Listen to their voices, its amazing what magic there is...
