Feast!
We ate lunch together today and enjoyed trying new foods. We learned all about proper table manners, and even how to set a table. We set the table, mad our own menu and then ate together. We tried, carved turkey, canned pumpkin, dried and jellied cranberries, and Mrs. zeller joined us and served the pumpkin pie! We had a great day!

A must watch video for parents.
Social media is beginning younger and younger. "Children have the knowledge but not the wisdom to use the power of the Internet." Parents, teachers, adults must be proactive and know that just talking to kids is only the beginning. Adults must monitor activity and be aware of what children are doing online. Please take a minute to watch this video until the end. It brought me to tears.
And it's not just girls...

Easy as PIE
Another busy day in second grade today! We learned about Author's Purpose and made a list according to the types of information that the author wanted us to know. persuade inform or entertain PIE!
We worked with our reading buddies to sort different genres and reading material into the correct category.
Finally we created our own PIE plate and used old book orders to cut out books and determine why the author wrote the text. It was easy as PIE!
