Geometry

We have been learning about flat shapes, how many sides and corners, what makes them the same and different. After one of the lessons this week I gave the children circles of yarn and asked them to work together to make their own shape.

Can you see the shapes?

Play-Doh Club

Who doesn't love play-doh?! In my classroom we have a play-doh club! I send a note home to parents asking them to sign up to make play-doh for our classroom. (It's coming home this week)

There are hundreds of different recipies, original, scented, and last years big hit had glitter! I just made some for this month and after trying different recipies the one on this blog was the best! Easy, and fast though to make more I would double it! I thought I would share the link if anyone wanted a good recipie for home.

Saturday Morning

Saturday morning in a teacher's house looks like this.

The Letter Game

One of our favorite classroom games! I hold up letter cards and the class has to say the letter and the sound. If they get it correct, they get a point (and I make a dramatic upset face- which they find hilarious) and if it is incorrect I get the point. As you can see they LOVE this game!

First week of kindergarten under our belt and having a great time!

Tie up all the lose ends...

School is approaching! And for every teacher, including PE teachers you can do one thing that will help make your child the teachers pet...teach them to tie their shoes!

Here is a link to a YouTube video that is a simple step by step way to practice at home. If this one doesn't work for your child check out YouTube for other versions.
